Markesan June Dairy Days.

Put on your best boots, your cleanest britches and roll out the barrel and let’s celebrate Markesan’s June Dairy Days 2011 (June 10^th-12^th).

It will be smashing good time at the first ever riding lawn mower demolition derby or curl up on your bed and race to the finish line for a Markesan first, the Bedlam Bed Race Go to www.MarkesanWI.com and click on the June Dairy Days tab for more information

Friday afternoon is the ever popular Kiwanis annual bike rodeo, where participating kids receive a free bike helmet and a chance to win free bikes, followed by a pork roast dinner and demolition derby. Cap your evening with live music by Save the Day at the free street dance and the fireworks display sponsored by Community Health Network.

Saturday, start the day off with an all you can eat farm breakfast, peddle tractor pull and whiffle-ball tournament. We also have bed races, family CPR training and tractor/truck pulls. Later, freshen up at the 4-H Pie and Ice Cream social before finding a seat for the most popular parade in central Wisconsin. Then all that’s left is to watch the Chamber Cheese Chase and listen to the hit band Road Trip.

Sunday features the Annual Memorial Remembrance Ceremony at the Hwy 44 Veteran’s Memorial followed by the Lion’s famous Chicken BBQ dinner with live antics of Uncle Ozzie. There is always plenty of live music, food and activities for everyone to enjoy at Markesan’s June Dairy Days.

Carnival is BACK!!!

Thanks to some very generous donations, Markesan is proud to have a carnival and a wristband night Friday from 6-9 pm. There is a Clown and a DJ to keep people entertained and several rides for the kids to do. Wristbands are $15 to play any ride. Rides include a bouncy house, obstical course, 21 foot slide, pony rides and a train ride.

Stubby Holds Whiffle Ball and Bean Bag Tournaments During June Dairy Days

If throwing bean bags and playing whiffle ball in the streets, meets your definition of a good time. Call Stubby's to sign up for his Junea Dairy Days Tournaments at 902-398-2921.

June Dairy Days Parade Route

The Markesan June Dairy Day’s parade is celebrating Markesan’s 50^th Birthday and will use the same route as last year.

The parade will start at the beginning of North Bridge Street and then travel South through downtown on Bridge Street, turn right onto Manchester Street heading West before turning right onto Margaret Street. The parade will then proceed North returning to the High School Parking Lot staging area.

The parade starts at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday June 13, with the staging area at the Markesan High School parking lot. This year’s parade is expected to be just as entertaining as in past years. The parade rain date is Sunday June 14 at 3:00 p.m.
